Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, Ferrell and Rachel McAdams don Iceland’s trendiest looks to play Lars. And Sigrit A.K.A Fire Saga, two small-town musicians who dream of winning the Eurovision Song Contest. When it seems like there isn’t a good thing in the world, Will Ferrell arrives in a ridiculous costume. We can’t thank him enough for his service. In real life, Eurovision has been canceled for 2020 crushing Iceland’s first real chance at winning. Meaning this Netflix comedy is the closest thing to the song competition fans are getting this year.

“This is it,” Lars says in a pep talk. “We have to prove to Iceland and my extremely handsome father that my life hasn’t been a waste.” Fire Saga has already dropped their entry song, pop ballad “Volcano Man.” Will Ferrell sings the song himself with musical artist My Marianne filling in for Rachel McAdams. Graham Norton, Dan Stevens, and Pierce Brosnan (Lars’s hot dad), also star.

The Eurovision Song Contest may have been cancelled for 2020 but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have some cheesy pop fun. Netflix has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Will Ferrell film “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga”.  Which arrives on June 26th, the trailer, in fact, is actually just the song “Volcano Man” from the upcoming film. But the tongue-in-cheek style should give you an idea of what to expect. The film stars Will Ferrell, Rachel McAdams and Pierce Brosnan as well as Dan Stevens and Demi Lovato.

The film follows two aspiring musicians Lars and Sigrit who are given the opportunity of a lifetime to represent their country. At the world’s biggest song competition, they finally have a chance to prove that any dream. Worth having is a dream worth fighting for. David Dobkin “Wedding Crashers”, “The Judge” directed the film.


Ferrell and McAdams will play aspiring Icelandic musicians Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir while Brosnan will star as Erick Erickssong. Lars’ father and the most handsome man in Iceland. Stevens “The Guest”, “Downton Abbey” will star as Alexander Lemtov  a Russian contestant in the Eurovision song contest. And Lovato “Camp Rock”, “Smurfs: The Lost Village” will star as Katiana, one of the best and most angelic singers in all of Iceland.
